Toronto’s Skydome was an engineering marvel when it was built in the 1980s and remains the most spectacular baseball stadium in the world. Built for $570 million, the stadium opened on June 3, 1989. Rogers Communications, a Canadian media company, purchased SkyDome in 2004, and revitalized it as the Rogers Centre. The stadium now plays host to professional teams, including home favourites: The Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Argonauts.
