The Toronto Zoo offers a fun packed wildlife experience that inspires people to appreciate the wonder and well being of the natural world.
Home to more than 5000 animals representing over 460 different species, one of the aims of the Toronto Zoo is to show animals in their natural environments.
Located in the scenic Rouge Valley, the Toronto Zoo encompasses 710 acres carefully crafted to flow naturally into the surrounding landscape. The award winning 30 acre African Savannah allows you to experience magnificent African animals, including Lions, Hyenas and Cheetahs in a new way-as part of their own habitat. The two acre Gorilla Rainforest is home to the largest indoor Gorilla exhibit in North America.
Your kids will have a great time at the Toronto Zoo’s Kids Zoo. Geared toward kids 9 and under, the huge play area has plenty of fun structures for kids to climb and explore. Any youngster will enjoy the interesting range of activities and interactive features here.
This mini-zoo and playground offers lots for kids to do and is conveniently located near the Zoo's main gates. Kids can enjoy an interactive wildlife experience in 5 Canadian natural habitat exhibits, including: Canadian Prairies' live prairie dog tunnel; Canadian Forest's giant tree house (where they’ll be able to see owls and other wild birds); South Saskatchewan Desert's dinosaur fossils and giant snakeskin crawling tube; Wetland Habitat, where they can play in a giant bird's nest and view frogs, toads and birds; and Close Encounters where they can get close to miniature pigs, goats and backyard wildlife.
While visiting these Toronto Zoo Interactive exhibits make sure you check out Zellers Discovery Zone and Splash Island, an exciting 2-acre water playground featuring the 750-seat Waterside Theatre, home of the Amazing Animal Show.
You can purchase Toronto Zoo tickets upon your arrival at the venue, or as part of the Toronto Citypass booklet available at any of the top Toronto tourism attractions.
